CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. — The Peace River Regional District is searching for a new fire chief to hire for the Charlie Lake Fire Hall, following the departure of Terry Truchan, the outgoing fire chief.The regional district’s CAO, Chris Cvik, confirmed that the resignation of the previous fire chief became effective on March 11. Since Truchan’s departure, deputy fire chief Dale Widsten has taken over temporarily as the district looks to hire a permanent fire chief.Between interviews, hiring, and allowing time for a new fire chief to move to the district if they needed to, it could take several months before a new fire chief settles into the role, Cvik said.
