West Ham will NOT sell Sunderland and Newcastle target, insists boss Bilic

first_img Andy Carroll Slaven Bilic insists West Ham have no desire to cash in on Andy Carroll this month.Carroll, the Hammers’ record signing, has been linked with a return to his native north east.Newcastle have been tipped to make a move to re-sign the 27-year-old, while former Upton Park boss Sam Allardyce is understood to be keen to take him to Sunderland.Newspaper reports have suggested West Ham could sell Carroll for the right price given his woeful injury record in recent seasons. But Bilic dismissed suggestions the giant striker will be on the move this month when he spoke at a press conference ahead of his side’s FA Cup clash with Wolves this weekend.“The club are not willing to listen to offers,” Bilic said. “We want Andy to stay and perform like he does in most games.“Nobody at the club wants to sell him, he’s a very good player. But whenever he scores a couple of goals the rumours start.“The only way he can stop the rumours is to play badly, which we don’t want him to do.“We don’t want to sell him. He’s very good in the dressing room and I know he’s happy here.” 1last_img
