The creatures, which can grow up to 13 metres long, usually begin arriving long before now.But the cold weather has meant that the shark’s main source of food, plankton, has been missing form the sea.But the good news is that there have been the first sightings of sharks off Inishowen on April 6th.Basking Shark co-ordinator Emmett Johnson said the sightings should be the first of many to come as temperatures begin to rise.  FIRST SIGHTING OF BASKING SHARKS MADE OFF INISHOWEN was last modified: April 11th, 2013 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Basking SharksInishowenlast_img
