first_imgCourtney Smith explains the abuse she allegedly dealt with.Courtney Smith, the ex-wife of fired Ohio State assistant coach Zach Smith, has released a new statement via her attorney regarding some of the reports that have surfaced, showcasing comments from her mother and former mother-in-law.Jeff Snook, a veteran author, has published multiple reports with strong comments from Tina Carano, the mother of Courtney Smith, who has actually been defending Zach Smith.“I wanted to stay out of this mess,” Carano said. “But I can’t take it anymore. I can’t take all of these lies that are being written. I just want the truth out there once and for all. What’s right is right. It’s been horrible for me to see the lies that were being written about Zach when he didn’t do what he was accused of doing.“He lost his job over something that didn’t happen.”She added the following:“When Zach got fired, I was in disbelief that it happened the way it did. I was trying to stay out of it, but I really wanted to come forward and tell the whole story,” Carano said. “I do want to see and have a relationship with my grandchildren someday.“But the fact is that Courtney set him up in this whole thing. So, too, did Zach Smith. Snook also reported that both of their mothers met with the committee.Ohio State has had Urban Meyer on paid administrative leave since Wednesday, Aug. 1. The investigation is expected to take two weeks.The Buckeyes are set to open the 2018 season on Sept. 1 against Oregon State. Ryan Day is the interim coach in Meyer’s absence.last_img
