Cultural Diversity Week in Vic

first_imgThe State of Victoria will be celebrating its cultural, religious and linguistic diversity, from 16 to 24 March, in a week of statewide activities and events. During the Victorian Multicultural Commission’s Cultural Diversity Week, hundreds of events and activities will take place across the State as Victorians come together to celebrate community harmony and denounce racism. Cultural Diversity Week, run by the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC), is held annually to coincide with the United Nations day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, on 21 March. On the last day of Cultural Diversity Week, Sunday 24 March, the fifth annual Viva Victoria multicultural festival will be held at Federation Square. This free family-friendly event, that will take place from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, will celebrate diverse cultures that enrich Victorian community, carrying a rich program of exciting music and dance performances across four stages, and featuring some of Victoria’s finest multicultural performers. Enjoy cultural workshops, free kids activities and face painting in a dedicated kids zone, a quality arts and crafts market-place, tempting cuisine from all corners of the globe, a licensed beer garden, roving performers and much more.
